For site owners

ProviderSignalBot

A once-a-month visit that confirms a dental practice's website is still its own.

What it does

ProviderSignal lists dental practices from public government records. When open map data or a brand's own office locator names a website for a practice, ProviderSignalBot loads that one page once and checks that it prints the practice's phone number or street address. If it does, the address of the site is shown to ProviderSignal's subscribers beside the practice. Nothing else from the page is kept.

How it behaves

The user agent is ProviderSignalBot/1.0 (+https://providersignal.com/bot). It reads your robots.txt first and stays out of anything it disallows. It makes at most one request to a site every ten seconds, reads no more than half a megabyte, follows no links, and returns about once a month to confirm the site still answers. It never submits forms, never logs in, and never runs scripts.

How to opt out

Add the two lines below to your robots.txt and the next visit will honor them, or email us and we will remove your site by hand.
